The Sisters of Charity of Cincinnati founded and sponsor DePaul Cristo Rey, which opened in 2011. The school is named for St. Vincent de Paul, who was known for kindness and charity to all classes of people he encountered in Paris in the 1600s. His emphasis on charity and service inspired the formation of the Daughters of Charity in France, and the Sisters of Charity in Emmitsburg, Md., formed by St. Elizabeth Ann Seton.

Paintings by artist Holly Schapker of St. Vincent and St. Elizabeth hang at DePaul Cristo Rey.
