Bruins Takes 1st Place in Robotics Competition

DPCR’s first robotics team was prepared and ready for the University of Cincinnati College of Engineering and Applied Sciences robotics competition. The Bruin team faced eight other teams in the high school division and won first place!

The DPCR team of Demetrius ’29, Dallis ‘28, Malayah ’27, Jirla ’26, and Makamte ’28 began preparing for the competition in January and presented their project at the UC competition on April 11. They are coached by Academic Dean Katie Hoekzema.

The team used materials and instructions provided by UC to build an autonomous wheelchair for an employee in a workplace of their design. The Bruins designed a home and garden center as the workplace.
