Thanks to the generous support of the Owen M. Hughes Foundation, the DPCR Golf Team, and all DPCR students, now have access to a state-of-the-art golf simulator on the school’s Clifton campus.

The Hughes family joined DPCR leaders and members of the Bruin Golf Team to officially open the Owen M. Hughes Golf Performance Center with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on September 17. The golf team has already begun using the simulator. It will also be used for physical education classes and will be open to all students during designated open play periods.

“It’s rare for a high school of our size to have an on-campus golf simulator available for students,” says DPCR Golf Coach Dave Lockard. “This will be an immediate asset to the young DPCR golf program providing a very realistic experience as the players work to improve their games. It will also benefit all students and expose them to the game of golf.”

The Owen M. Hughes Foundation was created in 2025 in memory of Cincinnati native Owen Hughes who passed away in April 2025. At the ribbon-cutting ceremony, his father, Kevin Hughes, thanked the many individuals who have contributed to the foundation enabling the family to create a legacy of projects in Owen’s name.
