New President Named

DePaul Cristo Rey High School’s Board of Directors has named Jim Schurrer as the school’s next president to begin on July 1, 2026. This is with the approval of the school’s sponsoring organization, the Sisters of Charity of Cincinnati.

Jim is already a well-known and respected member of the DPCR community, having served as principal for the past four years. He holds a bachelor’s degree in education from Ohio University and a master’s of education degree and a master’s of arts degree, both from Bowling Green State University. Prior to joining DPCR in July 2022, Jim was a teacher and administrator for 10 years at Cincinnati’s St. Xavier High School, and earlier, a teacher and administrator at schools in Toledo and Springfield, Ohio.

With our dedicated faculty and staff, we will strengthen our students’ experiences as we create transformational opportunities and build the kingdom of God in Cincinnati,” says Jim.

One of Jim’s first official duties in his new role will be to name an interim principal for this coming school year and then launch a search for a permanent principal. His appointment follows the fall 2025 resignation of Siobhan Taylor who led the school from 2020 through 2025.
