DePaul Cristo Rey High School – The School That Works For Cincinnati
The Corporate Work Study Program (CWSP) makes high quality, college prep education possible for students with economic need. Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky businesses and not-for-profit organizations hire a team of DePaul Cristo Rey students, enabling them to contribute to the cost of their own education while providing them priceless exposure to a professional environment.
This two-and-a-half minute video offers a visual overview of the program.
CWSP is the Student’s Employer
By assuming the role of an employee leasing agency, Cristo Rey schools streamline the process for employing their student teams. The students are not on the payroll of the employing organization, but are employees of the school’s separately incorporated work study program. The DPCR Corporate Work Study Program is the student’s employer and handles all payroll, legal and tax paperwork. The Corporate Work Study Program will provide all corporate partners with a fee-for-service contract to be paid annually, tri-annually or monthly. CWSP contract fees will go directly toward the cost of education at DePaul Cristo Rey High School. Students may have the opportunity to work during school breaks if there is a mutual agreement with the corporate partner, CWSP and the student.
Through the Corporate Work Study Program, all students contribute to the cost of their education by working five full days each month. This job share model allows DePaul Cristo Rey students to gain valuable professional experience without missing classroom instructional time. The graphic below explains how a team of four students job share on a weekly basis.

Mutually Beneficial Partnership
The Corporate Work Study Program allows students an opportunity to balance academic and work experiences with the unique funding aspect. Click here to see how this model also benefits the Corporate Partner by providing a less expensive alternative to hiring an entry-level employee without administrative overhead.
As a Corporate Partner, organizations will also reap the benefits of motivated, enthusiastic young workers, a diversified workforce, and the enormous satisfaction that comes from positively impacting a young person’s life.
A Proven Model That Works
By partnering with local business and not-for-profit organizations, Cristo Rey model schools are changing the face of urban education in the United States.
