Three DePaul Cristo Rey teachers have been recognized among “The Best of the Best” in Cincy Magazine’s 2018 Outstanding Educators Recognition Program. The list is included in the August/September issue of Cincy.
The 2018 DPCR honorees include English Teacher Pat Brennan (left) recognized for using teaching methods that engage students in learning and have led to significantly increased test scores. He coaches the student-poetry team that has achieved first place the past two years in the citywide Louder Than A Bomb poetry slam.
Math Teacher Dominic Masotti (right) was recognized for his innovative approach to teaching math and helping students recognize their innate mathematical abilities and mindsets. In May 2018 he was honored at DPCR with the Principal’s Award of Zeal.
Among the reasons Religion Teacher Julia Sandmann is honored is her work to develop the DPCR Religion Workshop approach to teaching religion to teenagers. It is based on universal Catholic-Christian values, reflection and hands-on activities that make lessons meaningful while reinforcing the importance of faith and critical reading and writing skills.
