Beech Acres School Based Services
Beech Acres Parenting Center partners with DePaul Cristo Rey to provide school-based services for students and families as they support their children’s school success. DPCR’s Beech Acres team includes:
Family Engagement Coordinator Ericka Hall who promotes a welcoming environment for all DPCR families and engages them in our school community. She’s responsible for ensuring effective and consistent communication between staff and parents, and providing parents with the support they need to be informed and active partners in their children’s education. She provides crisis support services and student mental health referrals.
Family Peer Support Provider Renita Mallory Terry serves as a parent coach/mentor with firsthand experience in addressing the needs of children in the educational setting and navigating through systems and services. She provides support for home life disruptions (separation, loss of family member, homelessness, etc.) and with accessing community resources for housing, medical care, employment and other family issues.
Child and Family Therapist Madeleine Schneider, LPC, provides therapeutic treatment at school and works with families and students on emotional wellbeing. She makes referrals for medical and mental health services when needed.
Companions on a Journey
A weekly grief support group for students meets at DePaul Cristo Rey. It is hosted by Companions on a Journey, a local organization which provides bereavement support for anyone who has lost a loved one, as well as educational services for teens and adults.
