Athletics COVID-19 Protocol
- Anyone entering the DPCR campus must wear a mask at all times, have their temperature checked, and use hand sanitizer (provided) before proceeding into the gym.
- All student-athletes, coaches and officials must conduct symptom assessments before practices and games. Anyone with the following will not be permitted to participate: - Temperature above 100 degrees F in last 72 hours. - Persistent cough or shortness of breath, and two or more of: chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, new loss of or smell, headache, or sore throat. - Vomiting or diarrhea in last 24 hours. - Has been exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 or an immediate family member who has tested positive in the past 14 days.
Spectators and guests are NOT permitted in the DPCR gym during athletic practices or competitions. Only the following are permitted: - team players - 2 or 3 coaches - 1 scorekeeper - 1 bus driver
Players must wear masks at all times unless actively warming up or playing in the game on the court.
- Players must bring their own water bottles; no water will be provided. Concessions will not be open.
- Locker rooms are closed.
- Equipment sanitizing procedures are in place
Return to Play After a Positive Test
Any DPCR student-athlete who tested positive, symptomatic or asymptomatic, shall NOT return to the activities until a documented medical exam is completed clearing the individual to return. The assessment must specifically include a statement regarding the cardiac / heart risk of high intensity exercise due to the potential of myocarditis.
If a player tests positive anyone that had contact with that individual MUST get tested. The test result must be negative and they should have no COVID symptoms to be able to return to practice.
