Service

All students are required to do a minimum of 10 service hours each year. At least half of those hours must be devoted to service with a church or community organization outside of DePaul Cristo Rey. The other half can be completed through service opportunities offered at DPCR through after-school activities or supporting school events. DPCR’s Campus Minister also coordinates weekend off-campus volunteer events and mission trips. Past trips have included service in Appalachia, Nashville, Washington, D.C., and the Pine Ridge Reservation of the Oglala Lakota Nation in South Dakota.

DPCR is also home to a service conference of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, offering monthly activities and service opportunities under the direction of a student board.
